Felix Hanemann was born May 1, 1953 in New Orleans, Louisiana . His early musical influences included the Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, The Byrds, and Cat Stevens.

Felix Hanemann formed the band Zebra in February of 1975 with guitarist/singer Randy Jackson and drummer Guy Gelso with Felix manning the roles of bass, keyboards and backing vocals. Zebra quickly rose to the top of the food chain in the unsigned band world in both New Orleans and New York, selling out large venues before ever releasing a record.

Atlantic Records signed Zebra in 1982 and their self-titled debut record was released in March of 1983 and became the fastest selling debut record in Atlantic Records history, selling an amazing 75,000 copies in it’s first week. The album stayed on the Billboard charts for eight months, peaking at number 29. Zebra has continued to record and perform, going into their third decade with six albums to their credit so far.

In 2000, Felix Hanemann released his first solo album, entitled “Rock Candy”. In 2006, Felix Hanemann became a member of the band Harry Slash & The Slashtones.
