FEKO

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

FEKO is a suite of software tools for application in the field of computational electromagnetics. It was designed with the "full wave" Method of Moments (MoM) technique as basis and has been hybridized to include options for use of the accurate Multilevel Fast Multipole Method (MLFMM) and the Finite Element Method (FEM) or approximation techniques such as Physical Optics (PO) and the Uniform Theory of Diffraction (UTD). Special integral equation formulations have also been included in the code. This inclusion of various numerical techniques which allows the user to choose a particular method (based on the electrical dimensionality of the problem) is a feature found only in FEKO when compared to other commercially available softwares. FEKO includes tools such as a GUI for the creation of simulation models, import filters for importing engineering models in industry standard formats, meshing tools for two dimensional and three dimensional entities and a postprocessing application with a wide range of visualisation features.
