Cvalda 14:24, 8 Dec 2004 (UTC) I don't think this person is important enough to be in Wikipedia. And second, I think the article is a bit biased to the left. Nothing serious, just a bit.

I think it's pretty neutral now. --Soldadito de Plomo 18:20, 20 Apr 2005 (UTC)

I don't think labelling newspapers or Mr. Losantos' ideology as "ultra-conservative" complies with NPOV standards.. I think keeping "liberal" would be best.

I disagree with his idealogy. Yes, Losantos defines himself as a liberal, but for an objective article, I think readers must know his right-wing politics ideology balanced with his liberalism. To mention his visceral rage against catalan nationalism will be important too.

I have corrected the image size to aboid pixelation.

Not to forget basque nationalism. Nacionalism is polemical stuff nowadays, even in Spain. byj 20:03, 2 August 2005 (UTC)

There are 3M people listening to his program every day. Whether you agree with him or not, this person is important enough to be in here.

[edit] Basque and Catalan Nationalism / Historical Revisionism

Both parties (the nationalists and the postion Jiménez Losantos defends) accuse the other of attempting to rewrite history. Whether we think one version is correct or not is beside the point. I clearly included in the statment the word alleged, which implies that the view that the nationalists are rewriting history to their convenience is the particular view of some people (including Jiménez Losantos) and that it is disputed by others. I hardly consider this to be POV. Claiming that the Basque and Catalan nationalists, as well as the Socialists, are rewriting history is in fact part of Jiménez Losantos' ideology.

Then again, I think we would agree that this is not too important an issue for now as this article is still lacking in many areas, particularly his biography. Therefore I won't insist on it. -- Mankawabi

SENTENCED TO PAY AND EDIT A RECTIFICATION

It has been known today: Losantos has been condemned by a court and he should pay 60.000 € to Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya (ERC) and edit a rectification in several media due difamation and lies about this political party. Could you insert this in your article, please?

[edit] Views, comments and opinions Reality and common sense

Spain has an identity problem which could condemn the oldest nation in Europe to a tragic end.

Oldest nation? No, sir. The first state in the Modern Age that has used genocide sistematically against hundreds of nations. That is the strict problem: a problem of a very old state.

And what it has to do with the article? --Lashiec 18:05, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] There is alot to say in this article which is not said

How about his support for the crazy conspiracy theories on the 11-M, accusing the Socialist party of being behind the Madrid 2003 attacks by Islamists which killed 200 people. He has systematically slandered every organ of the Spanish state. He has accused the Spanish judicial system of being in league with ETA. He has defined the Prime Minister of Spain as a "terrorist", the Spanish government as the "ETA government". He has expressed a systematic visceral Catalanophobia and has recently begun a campaign against the Spanish monarchy. He has numerous convictions for slandering conservative newspaper ABC, Catalan political parties ERC and numerous Catalan politicians.

This man is not a journalist, he is an extremely dangerous figure, who at other times and in a less mature democratic society could have contributed to plunge a nation into civil strife. Fortunately, he has no such power in modern Spain. --Burgas00 14:32, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

If no one does anything about this article, I will proceed to rewrite it, using Spanish wiki as reference.--Burgas00 14:36, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

Consider that the spanish article is marked as not neutral, and has recurrent edition discords between different POVs. In case you translate it, be sure to keep it neutral and not using the english wikipedia to give support for any of the spanish versions. ---- Fernando Estel ☆ · 星 (Talk: here- commons- es) 16:21, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

I am not following this article on Spanish wiki. Is there alot of conflict at present?

I personally dislike the man, but I don't think what could be subject of conflict. Everything he says and does is so extreme that there is no place for misinterpretation. --Burgas00 00:15, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

Burgas00 - I agree. The post should be edited. Tomclarke 13:08, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

The guy used to be more sensible in the old times. Personally I think he lost it after the Terra Lliure affair, when they kidnapped him for running as a Socialist Party of Andalusia candidate and claiming minority rights inside any future devolved regional government at the time. In any case, it is funny to realise how someone so far to the right now used to be a candidate for a party with the name socialist on its title... --Asteriontalk 20:05, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

He is certainly sincere in his beliefs. He would not be shooting himself in the foot by attacking the king over the past 2 years were it not so. He is crazy though, and pretty nasty. :-) I try to follow Spanish politics, but I dont know what his current position is. I know he is allied to the President of the Comunidad de Madrid Esperanza Aguirre who recently had a row with the king over him.

He is also a rabid atheist, which makes his position as mouthpiece of the Catholic church all the more surprising. --Burgas00 21:14, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
