Bastrop Federal Correctional Institution also known as Federal Correctional Institution, Bastrop, is a low security federal prison for men located north on State Highway 95 in unincorporated Bastrop County, Texas, United States 8 miles (13 km) north of Bastrop and 30 miles (48 km) southeast of Austin.
FCI Bastrop opened in August 1979, has the capacity to house 793 inmates, and has a staff of around 272. A satellite prison camp for men is located adjacent to the facility with the capacity for 122 minimum security inmates.[1]
