In the late 1990's Federal-Mogul pursued a strategy of rapid expansion within its sector and in 1998 acquired, among other businesses, Turner & Newall, a British based automotive products business which had lost focus in the face of asbestos claims.[1]

[edit] Chapter 11 Protection

In 2001 Federal-Mogul filed for Chapter 11 Protection after it became embroiled in the litigation associated with its new acquisitions.[2] Various organisations are currently campaigning for better compensation for claimants.[3]

As of December 27, 2007, Federal-Mogul emerged from its Chapter 11 bankruptcy.[2]
