The Federación Ecuatoriana de Fútbol (also Ecuafútbol or FEF) is the Ecuadorian federation of professional soccer teams, with its seat in Guayaquil. It organizes various competitions.
Juan Alfredo Wright from Guayaquil Ecuador was the first to promote football(soccer) with the help of his brother Roberto. They were living in England and then moved to Lima, Peru and were part of "Unión Cricket de Lima, Perú" before finally returning to Ecuador (around 1899) to show the youth of Ecuador Football.

The most important competition, which is the regular tournament, is usually called Campeonato Ecuatoriano de Fútbol and is played since 1957, with a two-year break from 1958 to 1959.
