[edit] Deaths
Don Knotts died on the 24th, not the 25th, and is listed under "Deaths" on both days. I removed his name from the list for the 25th, but the change was reverted. Anyone else care to try? 129.22.35.189 02:55, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Births; Amazement
Back on 14 December 2004, some good soul operating from IP 62.16.235.193 added Brendon Baerg into the Feb 25th births, listing it as 1998. Over two years later, yours truly comes along, happens to spot the name because it's at the end of the list, does some quick math & figures out that this American Actor must only be 9 years old! Wow! And he's famous enough to have his own Wikipedia Article! I'd better check this kid out! So I click over to his article, only to discover that, although he was, indeed, a child actor, he's now about to turn 31, as he was actually born in 1976!! it appeared that he was born in 1976, because someone had been vandalizing the article and changed the year of his birth!
So I corrected changed the Feb 25th Births listing. I'm sure it was an honest mistake, as he had a movie released in 1998. The thing that amazes me is the HUNDREDS of people who edited this article in the intervening two years who (apparently) didn't notice that little discrepancy! Mind you, I'm SO not criticizing those hundreds of people, but merely marveling that it does, indeed, take a very LARGE village to write an encyclopedia! <g> The very particular lens through which each one of us looks at this project is uniquely valuable! Write on!! ~~ Mpwrmnt 11:32, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
The learning that I take from this experience is: Don't believe everything you read, EVEN in Wikipedia! Check the history first and see where the information came from!
So now I've gone back and RE-corrected his birth year on the Feb 25th page & I think I'm going to "retreat" into the "real world" for a while! I'm craving 3-dimensional objects with weight and texture and smell & all those old-fashioned things! Humbly yours, Mpwrmnt 04:53, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Khrushchev's speech
February 14 also has Mr K denouncing Stalin in a speech. So do other sources. Unless he gave two such speeches, maybe this one is wrong. Alpheus 00:44, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
