The FEBS Journal is a scientific journal published by the Federation of European Biochemical Societies. Before 2005, this journal was previously known as the European Journal of Biochemistry, which itself was the new name of Biochemische Zeitschrift that was adopted in 1967.[1] It publishes research in any area of biochemistry, particularly bioinformatics, genomics and proteomics, molecular cell biology and the molecular biology of disease, systems biology and nanoscience.

The journal was founded in 1906 by Carl Neuberg who also served as the first editor.
