[edit] Working definition

The working definition of the topic is mostly the "main video game series (numbered titles) of the list of Final Fantasy media", with the addition of two titles not part of the main series, Final Fantasy X-2 and Final Fantasy Mystic Quest.--Pharos 01:29, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Vital improvements

To maintain status for this topic, it will be vital to bring Final Fantasy XIII up to GA or FA status within a couple of months of its release.--Pharos 01:29, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Final Fantasy XIII is still deep in development; it won't be complete for another 6 months-1 year. — Deckiller 01:43, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

List of Final Fantasy media is currently a Featured list removal candidate. If it gets delisted, this topic will unfortunately be on its way to a removal too since the list is the main article of the topic. Kariteh 21:54, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

List of Final Fantasy media has been demoted. This topic will be up for FTRC if it does not get re-nominated after a suitable grace period. --Arctic Gnome (talkcontribs) 00:39, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
What exactly is the accepted grace period? Axem Titanium 05:33, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
That hasn't really been decided. Older articles have been given until January 2008, which for them was the better part of a year. However, the project was just getting started then, and has become a bit stricter since it began. Also, the article in question here is a list, which is easier to get to featured status than an article would be. I'd say the grace period would be somewhere over a month, but not much longer. --Arctic Gnome (talkcontribs) 01:26, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
A month from now? Or...? Axem Titanium 04:29, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

List of Final Fantasy media has now been replaced with Final Fantasy as the main article. List of should be re-added to the topic when it regains FL status. --PresN (talk) 04:46, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Final Fantasy III has been demoted from GA and needs to be re-promoted by June 10, 2008 or the topic can be removed. Zginder (talk) (Contrib) 21:17, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

Final Fantasy VII has been demoted from FA and needs to be re-promoted to GA by August 4, 2008 or the topic can be removed, if it hasn't already been by then. Kariteh (talk) 19:47, 8 May 2008 (UTC) It has now been put up for removal here. Zginder 2008-06-10T18:19Z (UTC)

[edit] Potential improvements

Of course, the GAs could all do to be improved to FAs. Particularly, I am somewhat disappointed that none of the early titles are FAs.--Pharos 01:29, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Supposedly, there aren't enough out-of-universe sources for the early ones to really elevate them above GA status, at least for now. III probably has potential, if the two versions are covered in one article. — Deckiller 01:42, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
Hmm... have you guys been able to look at Japanese sources?--Pharos 02:53, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
Some fansites translate japanese sources, but since there are several WP:RS nazis out there, we compromised to only use them for interviews. Last year, we did have a few people who could read Japanese.
By the way, I left a comment on the FF8 project talkpage. — Deckiller 02:57, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Although the games which are part of the Topic are well covered in the List of Final Fantasy media, the games and media which are not part of it are less solidly covered. It's not totally vital for this precise Topic, but improving their entries in the List would be an improvement. Kariteh 15:24, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure they'll give us a few months to bring it back to standards; they're doing that to the Star Wars FT after all. — Deckiller 21:59, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
List of Final Fantasy media has been demoted... Kariteh 12:01, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
There was discussion about a grace period to get it back up to snuff on the FT talk page. I'm not sure what the results of that were though. Axem Titanium 01:22, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Possible additions

This topic should be better defined. Is it to be only for the main series, or for all Final Fantasy titles? It is not acceptable in the long term to include only some of the non-main series titles.--Pharos 01:29, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

All of the title pages are being elevated to at least GA status; there are only a few left, although we're waiting to nominate their addition in one fell swooop. — Deckiller 01:44, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
OK, I just wanted to give a heads-up.--Pharos 02:51, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

After pruning through the games, here are the articles that can be added to the topic:

The others are either in development, too minor to mention or belong in a subtopic, or are not real Final Fantasy games (such as the Legend series). — Deckiller 07:35, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Final Fantasy just passed GA, is there a way to fit that into the topic? (Guyinblack25 talk 16:08, 8 November 2007 (UTC))
Now that it just passed FA, perhaps it could replace List of Final Fantasy media? The Prince 14:10, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
I second that notion, otherwise a big topic will fall, and as this was the only problem, lets replace it!. Judgesurreal777 16:51, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
I'd like to get List of FF media back to FL too. Let's wait until the grace period is near over because I want to start improving that list in the mean time. Unfortunately, it probably won't be until after college apps finish on Jan 1. Axem Titanium (talk) 21:37, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
