Self-nomination. I took this picture so that the Pogs article could have a picture. Originally, I was not thinking of posting this picture on Wikipedia, but after carefully looking at the other pictures I had taken, this one became my favorite. There is something about this picture that sticks out in my mind. It could be the camrea angel that displays a 3-d feeling of the pogs, or it could be the sharp focus of the image itself, but the image stands out enough in my mind to nominate it for Featured Picture status.

  • I can't help thinking that a vertical view showing the designs (similarly to Image:Alaska Wild Berries.jpg or Image:Citrus fruits.jpg) would be ideal for this subject. Circeus 21:22, July 13, 2005 (UTC)

It would be unusual for the voting to turn around, but you never know. I don't think we have a policy for withdrawing a nomination early, but I can't see any harm in letting the nominator (or image creator) request that an FPC be withdrawn. Nominations get closed early if we find a problem with the licensing, so we could do the same thing - moving the nomination so far to the July archive. -- Solipsist 13:18, 15 July 2005 (UTC)
  • Oppose. It doesn't really show the interesting designs of the pogs well, and the background and the green holder aren't nice.
