[edit] D-Day at Omaha Beach
I find this photo of troops departing from a landing craft onto Omaha Beach on D-Day absolutely amazing. Large size though there's a bit of damage -- could probably be touched up easily. Amazing from a historical persepetive though.

- Support - That's pretty frightening, in fact. I'm impressed with it.. touching up would be a good idea. drumguy8800 - speak? 02:51, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
- Strong Support I disagree with touching it up though, becuase it might remove some of the original information in the pic. There might be another version of this somewherewithout the folds and scratches. - Ravedave 02:57, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
- Support. There's another version that Commons links to that I've posted to the right. It's missing the crease, but it's just a little too dark for my taste. — Rebelguys2 talk 05:02, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
- Support the first image. The 2nd image is much too dark. --PS2pcGAMER (talk) 06:10, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
- Comment: Not to rain on this parade, but version 3 here is already a featured picture, and depicts the same scene from the same angle. TomStar81 08:11, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

- I suppose this FPC is moot then? - Mailer Diablo 13:30, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

- Ergh, OK. So we have the same image twice. The one which is currently FPC is much smaller resolution than this new nomination. I'd therefore suggest replacing the current FPC with this one and close the vote (if that's possible). chowells 14:08, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
- This vote is closed! The result was: upload new nom over current FP ~ Veledan • Talk 20:01, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
