Self nom. I've been reasearching/editing this article and recently published books as well as a peer review have got it up to what I hope is FA standard. josh (talk) 21:30, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

• "Sheffield F. C. - The Club" reference has no publisher information at the very least. I'm not sure the club itself is necessarily the best source for the information that they introduced a bunch of concepts into the game. You also repeat this reference later in the article, it could be combined. (current refs 2 and 52)
• The Alcock Football: Our Winter Game reference needs a page number.
• The History of English Football reference needs publisher information at the very least. It looks like it is self-published, at least I couldn't find any information on who puts the page out.
  • Okay, now that it has a publisher, I'm still not sure it's a reliable source. The home page of the site doesn't list a staff, or editorial policies. The page itself doesn't list any sources. Ealdgyth - Talk 02:24, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
• Current ref 19 "Minutes of the Meeting" is lacking author and publisher information. Ideally it would be a published source so others can verify information, not in an archive.

• The A. Drake "Sheffield Early Matches" ref lacks publisher information.

• "New' I just noticed that you have Hutton, Steve History of Sheffield Football Club and Hutton, Steve, Graham Curry, Peter Goodman History of Sheffield Football Club 150 Years of Football . Are these the same? If so, the first reference needs to be expanded to match the second. If they are different, the first reference should have a publishing year on it. I've sorted out most of the references and the majority now have page numbers. The only exception is Football: Our Winter Game that is difficult to get hold of so I won't be able to get a page number until I make a trip to one of the libraries that have it. I've replaced the club source with an independant article. Upon rechecking the sparticus ref I found that it was flawed so the sentance has been removed. josh (talk) 19:46, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

The club ref has now been replaced with a bbc article (ref 2). I have removed the alcock reference as I can't get hold of a specific page. In the lead i've replaced it with positional innovations instead. I've replaced 'History of English Football' with a book reference (ref 19). 'Minutes of meeting' and A. Drake have been replaced with similar refs found within 'From Sheffield with Love' (refs 20 and 69). The confusion of the title with the Hutton book was down to varing titles on the cover and inside. I looked it up on amazon et al and they actually have the title as 'Sheffield F.C.' so i'm now using that (refs 25 and 46). josh (talk) 14:56, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

• Images shouldn't have specific thumbnail sizes, use WP:MOS#Images to find a suitable modifier.

• Expand (and maybe link) AGM before using it.

• "In 1861 Rouges " - why capitalise rouge?

• Place (FA) after the first mention of the Football Association.
• Birth of competition section has too many really short paragraphs, merge some to improve flow.
• Put (IFAB) after first mention of expanded version.
• "While causing much amusement when the side visited London in 1866, the header would become an important feature of the national game." citation needed.

I've implemented all the changes you recomended. The two cite problems actually had cites at the end of the previous sentence. I have moved them to the end of the paragraphs to make it a bit clearer. I've updated the images as per MOS. josh (talk) 16:43, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
