[edit] James Strang

previous FAC

I request that this article be re-reviewed for a Featured Article. I was never sure why it was denied before, but I would request that it be reviewed again. I believe it is an excellent treatment of the topic, and seems to compare favorably (in my opinion, at least) to other FA's I have seen recently. It's subject is a rather unique character in Michigan and Mormon history, and I believe the article itself is worthy of a second look. I would appreciate any feedback and/or suggestions for improvement anyone may have! Ecjmartin (talk) 02:31, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

Quick comment Please please ditch the scare-quotes ("king", "president" "Written off" etc etc). There are loads of them and it's not encyclopedic. (Slightly more dispassionate stuff to follow :) --ROGER DAVIES talk 03:12, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

  • Note: Double-check links; umich.edu didn't work for me. ЭLСОВВОLД talk 14:08, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

the links all checked out using the link checker tool. I notice that a lot of the article is referenced to books by Strang, I don't have time to do an indepth read of the article, but reviewers might want to look into that more closely. Ealdgyth - Talk 15:43, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

Request this nomination be withdrawn; I had hoped to address these (quite valid) concerns, but with a promotion at work (that I just found out about today), I won't have much time for Wikipedia editing in the forseeable future. If anyone else wishes to address these issues, please feel free. My apologies for the inconvenience, and best wishes to all. Ecjmartin (talk) 02:43, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

Congratulations on the promotion! Jpmonroe (talk) 08:33, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
