The FCW Southern Heavyweight Championship was the top professional wrestling title of Florida Championship Wrestling, a developmental territory of World Wrestling Entertainment. It has since been retired after being unified with the current top title in FCW, the FCW Florida Heavyweight Championship.
[edit] History
Harry Smith became the first champion after winning a 21 man battle royal at the Dallas Bull in Tampa, Florida.[1]. When FCW became WWE's single development territory, a new championship, the FCW Florida Heavyweight Championship, was created and won by Jake Hager. A championship unification took place on March 22, 2008 to decide the real heavyweight champion in FCW. Florida Heavyweight Champion Jake Hager defeated then Southern Heavyweight Champion Heath Miller to unify the two championships and become the undisputed heavyweight champion in FCW thus retiring the championship.[2]
