That year in Khazar University – one of the private education centers of Azerbaijan has been established a team with the same name and joined to amateurs league. “Khazar University” played in amateur team the next season too (1998/99). The team has ended its debut in 11th place, in 2000/01 season in 7th place, in 2003/2004 season 3rd place. In 2002/03 the championship of the country was not held. In 2003/04 season the team has played successfully and ended the season with the 4th place. This result gave to “Khazar University” to play in UEFA-Intertoto cup. In the first stage the “Khazar University” has defeated the team of Austria “Bregents”: 3:0 (+:-) and 2:1. In the second stage “Khazar University” met with “Tampere United” of Finland. Though our team lost the first game with the score 0:3, in the play hold in Baku it won 1:0 and stopped its participation in UEFA-Intertoto cup. So, in this history of eurocup tournaments of Azerbaijan clubs “Khazar University” has for the first time won 3 games in one season. From summer of 2004 all rights of “Khazar University” team has been transferred to newly created “Inter-Baku” Professional Futball Club and the team began to participate in 13th championship of Azerbaijan under the name of “Inter-Baku”.

After a while structural changes were made in the club and “Inter-Baku” Professional Football Club changed to “Inter” Professional Club. So, the name of “Inter” club has been approved from middle of 13th championship. Though “Inter” differed in 13-th national championship with its good game, it could only get the 7th place. Though “Inter” was to close to medals in 14th national championship, the team finally got the 4th place.
