- Botev Vratsa Football Club was founded on 1921 by Nikola Kunov, Ivan Abuzov, Nako Paunov, Gergo Boytchev, Todor Orozov, Hristo Lighenski and Angel Rachinski. The place is playground near the Old market in Vratsa.
- 1921 - 1956 there are a lot of sport clubs founded in the city.
- 1957 some of these clubs are fusioned in new one - FC Botev Vratsa.
- 1957 - 1964 7 years from its foundation Botev Vratsa is a member of second bulgarian football league ("B" group).
- 1964 FC Botev Vratsa enters [1] in the elite bulgarian football group ("A" group) and did not leave it 26 years.
- 1964 - 1990 the club have 788 plays and 269 wins.

The team's home stadium, "Hristo Botev", was completed in 1948. It is situated in the Hristo Botev sport complex, in the east side of Vratsa. The stadium holds 32 000 people.
