fbpanel is a lightweight NETWM compliant desktop panel written in C using the GTK+ library.

fbpanel can run in any NETWM compliant window manager, such as xfwm4, Sawfish, OpenBox, Metacity, or KDE.

It provides variety of plugins, such as:

  • taskbar
  • pager
  • 'show desktop' button
  • launchbar
  • imageviewer
  • clock
  • tray (notification area)
  • menu
  • space filter
  • cpu monitor

Its main features include:

  • all icons follow your current GTK+ icon theme
  • transparency support
  • customizable size and screen position
  • ability to run many instances each with its own configuration
  • modest resource usage

fbpanel is free software released under the GNU General Public License.
