[edit] Esperanza front page
Hey FayssalF, I changed the Esperanza page back to the newly-designed version, and wanted to let you know. The new design of the front page was worked on for a while elsewhere, and the layout was all figured out before it was put up on the front page. If there's something that's messed up, definitly post something about it on the talk page so that it's known about, but otherwise we've pretty much implemented the new design. Thanks, and let me know if you have any questions. -- Natalya 11:27, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Does content removal qualify as vandalism?
Hi Fayssal,
It's me, your long-lost admin coachee. Hope you have had a good summer. Despite what you might think based on our lack of interaction over the last couple of months, I have actually been putting in some effort into preparing to apply for an RFA.
One thing that I have spent time doing is creating a self-assessment of my qualifications to be an admin. I have been updating this document over the last couple of months as I work on different areas. This document is still in draft form but I think it is ready enough to ask you to take a look at it. When you have time, could you look at the following and give me your comments?
User talk:Richardshusr/Adminship self-assessment
Also, I was going to write the following in response to a query about Criticism of the Bible on WP:ANI and then thought "Is that really policy?" So I figured I better check it out. Here's what I was going to write. What do you think about this?
- Removing content without consensus IS vandalism and editors who do so can be blocked. If Kdbuffalo continues removing without consensus after being warned, request a block.
My question is: Is this vandalism or a content dispute? Can Kdbuffalo be blocked for edit warring even if he/she does not violate WP:3RR?
Thanks.

[edit] Hola!
Bokpasa 22:48, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Request
Hey, can you please move "Cretan Muslems" [sic] back to it's original title, Cretan Turks? Miskin moved the page without any consensus. Thanks. —Khoikhoi 17:17, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
- Ummm, sorry but I'm sure that Khoikhoi would not intend to have these editors blocked. He just requested a move. There was a solid rationale and debate for these moves in the relative talk. Also, the first move was disputed after it was materialised, and these editors all agreed to take it to WP:RM after the moves had finished. Please reconsider, I think it was a hasty block decision. •NikoSilver• 00:15, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

- Thanks. For the record, I had written this: Tzekai is new, but made a fantastic article which was included in did you know... Miskin is good, very well sourced and very... Greek (well, like me I presume). He occasionally gets too nervous, but this time it's definitely not the case. [edit] Diplomatic writing
--Wessam Reda 20:54, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
Dear editor, the article I'm writing sounds like a brainstorming fashion, but this is how I choose to write about Islam. It's my style of writing. Yet, if you read it carefully, you'll see that I'm giving solid definitions for "Hijab", "Four wives Marriage", "Islam by the sword", "English version of Quran", "Somking in Ramadan" and others. Please let me keep those definitions in Islam page, in a diplomatic way of writing.

Hey - can you tell me if the edits of 85.101.223.239 (talk · contribs) is considered vandalism or is this just a content dispute? —Khoikhoi 22:25, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
- So erasing half of an article without any explanation isn't vandalism? —Khoikhoi 22:59, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
-
- If you look more closely at the anon's edits you will notice that he/she deleted the Kurdish people section, which had one reference, the disabled section, which had two refs, the conscientious objection section, which had one ref, and the last section, which had three refs. He even erased the References section! :-( As you can see, the anon is deleting sourced material, and I don't really see any excuse for that (in-line with WP:V). —Khoikhoi 23:33, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] EL Removal
Please can you clarify the reason for the removal of external link which I thought is very relevant to Muhammad's article. Moreover, what was the reason you have issued a warning to me?
The link is an excellent presentation which I have seen recently and I thought it will be useful to wiki readers.
I have now put the item in Talk page to see if people want it to have it as an external link.
Appreciate your response.
[edit] Re:Re:External Links
Many thanks for your reply.
While I am with you with regards to limiting random insertions, but unfortunately some Wikipedians think they are first among equals. I want to assert my right as a Wikepedian. Let's not forget that Wikipedia is free and I have a right same as yours.
Specific to your answer, how did you assume that the link I am providing is a site I own or maintain? Just because an article is on geocities doesn't mean that I own it.
I think it will be useful for you to recap on the Dispute Policy.
"Be respectful to others and their points of view. This means primarily: Do not simply revert changes in a dispute. When someone makes an edit you consider biased or inaccurate, improve the edit, rather than reverting it. .."
As such, before reverting my changes you should have first discussed with me on the talk page.
[edit] Too many assmptions...
Thanks for your note.
I think you assume too many things..
An editor removed my link without consulting me and then mentioned a note on the talk page.
I am saying this is against Wiki pedia policy.
The editor is supposed to consult me first and reason out why he disputes a particular edit.
If you believe in objectivity, don't you think my take is fair and as per the policy?

[edit] Qiryat Gat article being vandalised
The bones of this article (contributed to by at least 3 different people) are being repeatedly vandalised. It's being replaced by an uncheckable (and highly unlikely) supposed clip by a Palestinian nationalist "Musa Alami, and were documented in "The Middle East Journal", on October 1949". I'm not really familiar with what to do at this point.
-
- Here's what's being lost ->> "Qiryat Gat was established in 1954 on the lands of 'Iraq al-Manshiyya between that village and al-Faluja. The safety and property of the 3,140 Arab civilians (over 2000 locals, plus refugees from other villages) in the area were to be protected under an exchange of letters that were filed with the United Nations and became an annex to the main Israel/Egypt armistice agreement of February 1949. The two countries agreed that "those of the civilian population who may wish to remain in Al-Faluja and Iraq al Manshiya (the two villages within the enclave covered by the letters) are to be permitted to do so. ... All of these civilians shall be fully secure in their persons, abodes, property and personal effects."[4] The enclave was handed over to Israel as part of the Israeli-Egyptian armistice agreement, but few civilians left when the Egyptian brigade withdrew on 26th Feb 1949. Israel promptly violated the armistice agreement and began to intimidate the populace into flight. United Nations observers reported to UN mediator Ralph Bunche that the intimidation included beatings, robberies, and attempted rape.[5] Israeli historian Benny Morris writes that the decision to cleanse the "Faluja pocket" population was probably approved by Israeli prime minister David Ben-Gurion ("Birth of the Palestinian Refugee Problem revisited p.524). The last civilians left 22nd April and the order to demolish these (and other) villages was ordered 5 days later by Rabin (San Fransisco Chronicle). See 1948 Arab-Israeli War and the subsequent founding of modern Israel". PalestineRemembered 11:27, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
