I tried to break the somewhat unwieldy history into more manageable sections, did a little wikification, added some external links, the unsourced tag. Article still needs citations, etc. And it still reads very much like a brochure for the event. Notability isn't an issue, I found it referenced enough on various web pages, but I think there might be some POV issues with it. I'll try more cleanup later perhaps.
