Fay Dowker

Helen Fay Dowker is a British theoretical physicist and progressive political activist born in Manchester, England. She studied at the University of Cambridge where she completed her Ph.D. under the supervision of Stephen Hawking. Active in her criticism of the war against Iraq, she devotes much of her personal homepage to information on her political causes.

Dr. Dowker conducts research in a number of areas of theoretical physics, including quantum gravity and causal set theory, and is currently a member of the department of physics at Imperial College London. She currently lectures undergraduates on "Foundations of Quantum Mechanics" and graduates on "Black Holes".
