The Faulknor family was an English family from Northamptonshire, of which 5 generations served as officers in the 18th century Royal Navy.

He was the son of William Faulknor. He was captain of the Victory, which was lost with all hands on the Casqueds rocks on 5 October 1744. He was the father of Robert Faulkoner the elder and Jonathan Faulkoner the elder.

The son of Samuel Faulknor, he commanded the Bellona (74 guns) during the Seven Years' War and captured the French Courageux (74 guns) in 1761 after an action lasting 55 minutes. His son was Robert Faulkoner the younger.
