Fatima Jinnah Medical College

The Fatima Jinnah Medical College, named after Fatima Jinnah, is located in Lahore, the capital of the Punjab province of Pakistan.

In 1946 the family of Sir Ganga Ram decided to start a medical college the Balak Ram medical College, however this was in the period just prior to the partition of India, the violence of the period meant that the building was abandoned[1].
After the independence of Pakistan the decision was made to make this a women's college - the founder of Pakistan, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, gave permission for the college to be named after his sister[1].
