Fatima Jayoushi is a philosopher, translator, and critic of Palestinian origin.
She lectures at the University of Damascus in Damascus, Syria where she has spent most of her academic life. Nicknamed as Doctora amongst her colleagues, she is renowned as the first female staff member at the University of Assad. Having completed her studies in France she returned to the Arab world and joined a radical feminist movement in Damascus.
