The Father Lasher (Myoxocephalus scorpius) is a small coastal fish of Northern European waters. It grows to about 15cm in length, with a squat appearance. It has a large spiny head with a tapering body. It is a mottled grey-brown in colour but can be darker. It has a large mouth and spiny gill covers.

The Father Lasher is found among seaweed and stones on muddy or sandy seabeds. It is common such areas around the British Isles.

This fish has an unusual number of alternative names, including Bullrout, Bullhead, Goat Sculpin, Guffy, Horny Whore, Pig-Fish, Scolping, Scopin, Scopy, Scully, Sculpin, Scummy, Scumpy, Short-Spined Sea Scorpion, Shorthorn Sculpin and Warty Sculpin.[1]
