[edit] History

Named after Fr. Thomas Augustine Judge (1868-1933) who dedicated his life to organizing lay missionaries in the northeastern United States.[1] Fr. Judge founded the congregation of sisters whose "motherhouse" is located next to the highschool, these sisters then donated a portion of the land to the archdiocese on which the school was built.[2][1] In the autumn of 1968, a memorial to 27 Judge graduates killed in the Vietnam conflict was dedicated. The granite memorial stands at the front entrance to the school on Solly Avenue. Father Judge High School has the singular distinction of having the largest number of graduates of any non-public school in the nation who lost their lives in service to their country during the Vietnam War.
