Father Figure

A Father Figure is usually considered to be an older man, often one in a position of power or influence, who arouses emotions usually felt for a person's father and with whom a person identifies psychologically.[1]
In more general use, it means an adult male who is recognised as the authoritative senior of another (usually younger) male (or female), sometimes expressed by the use of the address forms father viz. son (as between a clergyman and a layman, irrespective of age).
