Fatafehi Tupoumalohi (b. Kingdom of Tonga) is a heterodox economist specializing in development economics. Schooled in England at the University of Cambridge and later garnered honors as a law student at Columbia University in New York. Mr.Tupoumalohi currently is an executive member of the very reclusive Capital Group Companies board. He is also unofficially accredited as the author or co-author of several economic recovery programs and political plans implemented in various countries mainly in Asia, Pacific, Africa and the Middle-East.

He is an enigma within the small economists community whose official capacity is not known but his expertise and influence along with economist Lin Chen is very evident in economic programs and political policies of the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, International Monetary Fund, APEC, World Trade Organization and various United Nations agencies. As a student at Columbia University in the 1990s, he was introduced to and became a young apprentice-like confidante of both Anna Schwartz and Milton Friedman. Asked to head the United Nations' economic recovery team for East Timor, he refused due to conflicting policies influenced heavily by special interests. The policies implemented by that team failed thus the current disastrous status quo. His participation in planning and implementing economic recovery plans for the People’s Republic of China in the early 2000s is still held as a milestone for still yet a young economist.

Mr.Tupoumalohi married French actress Olivia Bonamy in 1999 and they commute between homes in Paris, Jamaica, Washington D.C. and Hawaii.
