Fastclick
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Fastclick was an advertising network which was one of the most visited domains according to Alexa (from the advertisements it serves on other websites). Fastclick paid publishers up to 65% of revenue it generated from ads on their sites. Fastclick's minimum advertising campaign amount was 1000 USD. It was acquired by ValueClick in August 2005. Fastclick installs spyware onto computers. When Fastclick anonymously installs itself onto a computer system, it will slow a computer down and does considerable harm to its security and privacy.
[edit] Criticism
Its pop-ups are criticized for being very aggressive, bypassing both the Internet Explorer and Firefox pop-up blockers, even though the company denied these claims in the press.[citation needed]
