As a response to drastic consequences resulting from an oil spill, demands for ships more prepared to respond to a possible oil accident have increased. This has led to innovated Fast Oil Recovery (FOR) systems which can be built into a new ship or integrated into an old ship facilitating fast, efficient, and safe removal of oil from a wrecked ship. Leading this market of innovation is French company JLMD System who has partnered with the leaders in the marine salvage industry Smit International, in order to mitigate the risks of a shipping accident.
