Sita M. Farrell is a Vice Consul and Second Secretary in the State Department. She was confirmed by the Senate in 2004, and was sworn in by Secretary of State Colin Powell.

Sita will serve as a Consular/Political Officer at U.S. Embassy Moscow from March 2008-2010. Her previous diplomatic assignment was in Seoul, Republic of Korea. Prior to joining the State Department, she worked as a humanitarian relief practitioner with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Ethiopia.

Sita holds a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy (MALD) degree from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. She was also cross-registered at Harvard Law School and The Kennedy School of Government. Her fields of study were International Negotiation and Conflict Resolution, and U.S. Foreign Policy. Sita also holds bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Slavic Languages and Literature from the University of California at Berkeley.

Sita is married to Ron Rodriguez.
