[edit] Childhood and Background

Samuel Kevin Day, was born on January 24, 1983, at Saint Joseph Hospital, in the city of Orange, Orange County California. He is the third son of William (Larry) Day, and of Diane O'Dell Day.
Samuel's Mother faced devastating news when she found out in her pregnancy, and during a routine ultrasound test, that her son was very sick. A nurse mentioned to her "He's your Samuel baby". Serious kidney problems threatened her unborn son's life. Fortunately, Sam defeated all odds when he was born on that January 24, 1983 night, at a whopping 11 baby boy pounds. He immediately underwent kidney surgery and was kept hospitalized for weeks. Sam made a good recovery and soon was pronounced to be their miracle baby, and was therefore named "Samuel", meaning "Heard of God."
Of Irish, German and English descent, Sam Day grew up an all-American boy. He lived out his adventurous childhood on a Horse Ranch in the equestrian part of the friendly city. Although his father was an ambitious blue ribbon horse owner/rider and successful businessman, Sam and his two older brothers, Christian Cory and James Carter Day, never acquired the same rustic, cowboy passion.

Nevertheless, Sam displayed his father's good business instincts as a young 7 year old entrepreneur; selling chocolate bars and bottled water to all the parents at the local sports game events. With the fascinating mixture of his mother’s guts and gusto, and his father’s charm and light hearted expression, Sam’s personality was unique. He would walk up and down the scattered grassy fields while promoting his service's "convenience" and "staggering low prices". He promised all his customers a very satisfying and economic business transaction. He did all of this, and always maintained a cheerful and sociable disposition.

Samuel K. Day grew up with parents who came from humble beginnings. His parents were resourceful and ambitious, and managed to become successful by their hard work and dedication. Sam says growing up was a social challenge. He was raised in the shadows of his two much older brothers who often teased him and made him seek out self entertainment and imagination to occupy his time. His brother’s loved him, but the teasing and pranks were consistent and playfully intense.

Surrounded by cowboy furnishings and ideals, a house full of dogs and cats, and rural songs on the radio, Sam grew up with that country spirit. Although his friends and family know that he loves all kinds of music, especially from past decades. He loves his Mother's meatloaf and homemade strawberry cake. In most of his baby pictures, he's seen wearing brown leather, pointy-toed cowboy boots. Looking back at the old photo albums and home movies, you can see Sam's fascination for sociability and interaction. Sam was different and everyone knew it-----He loved the limelight!

Samuel found his true calling in Junior High School, when he enrolled in an introductory Drama course. Being on stage wasn't new to Sam, he had always enjoyed being the center of attention. Sometimes being a 10 year old Elvis Presley impersonator, for teenage girls' birthday parties; to the production of intimate living room dinners and shows, and magic performances he would put on at his home; Sam was never a wallflower. His first true career consideration was to be an actor, but very soon after, his ambitious and declarative nature, and his leadership skills inspired him to become instead, a successful and imaginative Hollywood Director.

[edit] Achievements

In High School, his true passion for film grew and was nourished by friends and teachers. In his later High School years he met his Mexican/Cuban High School girlfriend, Tiffany Amber Farran, who he is still with today. Sam took Tiffany to his Jr. Prom, as platonic friends, but they ended up falling in love instantly. After only 2 months of dating, they had planned out their futures and had already given first and middle names to their 5 as yet unborn children.

For Sam, High School was just the beginning. During his first year in college, Sam excelled on the college's debate team, and won many championships. It was then that Sam and a friend started their first film production company, named Cinemacraft Films. They were located in his hometown and filmed corporate videos, weddings, receptions, parties, children's musical performances, and a wide-range of other venues. They played every role, and wore every hat. They were the videographers, the customer service representatives, the advertising agents, the film editors, etc. On the side, Sam continued to produce home films himself, and continually wrote more and more movie scripts for the ideas that inspired him. He is a prolific writer and enjoys writing scripts and poems.

[edit] Movies

In 2005, Sam was hired onto the movie Consignment, as Unit Production Manager. Director Sid Kali gave Sam his first big break on his urban themed film. In return, Sam put in every breath, blood and tear into making that movie happen. Sam personally managed every point and angle of that film with full and focused attention. Unfortunately, the director was going down a path that Sam’s ethics disagreed with, and Sam went on to direct, produce and manage other independent films in the industry. He never let anything distract or dilute him from who he was, or from his solid integrity.

Soon there after, Sam took a year off from Vanguard University, and backpacked through Europe for 3 months with his long time friend. Sam visited over 8 different countries, mostly in Eastern Europe. "It was the most amazing time," he says. Soon after his arrival back home, he took his own production company AMBERproductions, named after his longtime girlfriend, even further by copywriting a few of his long time inspirational works.

In 2007, Sam was hired on by the production company Spear Films, as Production Manager, Co-Producer and Co-Director for the 35 mm film, Dark Games. Being the diverse and engaged man that he is, Sam also took on numerous other ventures at the same time, working as a Producer, Director, Writer, Editor, and Budget Analyzer for other projects in the works.

As for the future, Sam's goals are to make AMBERproductions not just a production company, but a multimillion-dollar production studio where he can direct and produce his own personal films.

Sam's scripts don't follow one particular genre in general, but range in diversity, much like himself. His movie ideas range from epics to modern, from comedies to dramas, from simplicity to epoch films and to the kind that "just make you think".

[edit] Future Plans

In Sam's near future, he plans to manage and produce more pictures and sharpen his experience with larger films in order to attain his ultimate aspirations. It is important to him to always have the room for creativity and the ability to give his personal touch to all his work. His family, friends and God are the means to his efforts, and his optimism and cheerful spirit are some characteristics that set him apart from the rest.
