[edit] When is "whites only" not racist?

Hi User:NostinAdrek,

I am removing the NPOV tag because this country club refuses admission to non-whites which is the very definition of racist. This policy has been documented in an article in TIME magazine.

Please explain in this discussion page how you see whites-only as not being racist.

Thanks, Erxnmedia (talk) 02:41, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

Hi Erxnmedia,

OK, I agree. My mistake.

[edit] Current membership policies?

Is there any evidence that the country club maintains a "whites-only" membership policy today? All of the references address events of the 1970s, yet the article claims the membership policy in the present tense. WildCowboy (talk) 16:41, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

There's nothing on their website that says "oh, by the way, we stopped being racist in 1979." Most likely because they didn't. It's a big world out there. Thanks, Erxnmedia (talk) 19:24, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
The lack of a statement is not evidence of a current racist policy, so I've edited the statement to reflect the historical context. Should you find a recent reference regarding the club's membership policies, feel free to include it. WildCowboy (talk) 06:55, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
