Fartha, County Cork

Fartha is a small townland in south County Cork, Ireland. Fartha consists of 454 acres of good farming land, predominantly tillage. The origins of the townland are believed to be related to a burial place, land of tombs and graves. There is a ringfort and a famine village in the townland. Today, (2007) many of the family names still exist which resided here 150 years ago.

Fartha is now home to the internationally renowned[citation needed] Joseph Walsh Furniture studio.
