Farragut North (play)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Farragut North is a play written by Beau Willimon about the 2004 Democratic primary campaign of Howard Dean. The script was awarded the 2005 Dayton Playhouse FutureFest award. It is slated to open on Broadway in 2008, in the lead up to the 2008 US presidential election.
The play is titled after Farragut North, a Washington Metro station in Washington, D.C., on the Red Line. Farragut North serves downtown Washington and is located just north of Farragut Square near Connecticut Avenue. Willimon chose the name as the station is located in the center of the lobbyist district.[1]
The play is currently in rehearsal and will be produced by Back House Productions and directed by Mike Nichols. The play is already slated to be produced as a feature film by Warner Bros. in 2009.
