Farnham's legend is a Science-fiction book based in the same universe as the X Computer Game Series. The book is written by Helge T. Kautz and translated into english by Steve Miller and Andreas Fuchs.

Each chapter tells the stoty from one or another of the characters points of view. The main characters featuring in this book are:

• Capt. Kyle William Brennan - The Human Pilot of the X-perimental space shuttle and the playable character in X: Beyond the Frontier.
• Major Elena Kho - Friend of kyle and a pilot in the USC.
• Cho - A Split, the special envoy of the patriach of Chin.
• Nopileos - A young Teladi who encounters Elena on her mission to find Kyle.
