Knight's Senate, established in 2006, is the student's union organization for Farmington Senior High School. Contrary to how normal student councils are set up, Knight's Senate is different in that clubs and organizations have senate seats based on their size.

Black Knight TV is a local cable access television station which is operated from the studios located at Farmington High School. BKTV is primarily run by students under the direction and supervision of Ms. Molly Pogue-Hartrup and Mr. Jack Sadler. The program is designed to give students a "hands-on" experience with professional equipment and procedures used in the television and film-making industry.

On October 11, 2005 17year old Freshman Josh Minks dressed in black opened fire in the school bathroom with a 12 gauge shotgun. Minks was arrested and no one was injured.[citation needed]
