Farm to Market Road 522 is a state highway the U.S. state of Texas.
Farm to Market Road 522 is a short route (4.8 miles long) that gives drivers a more scenic view from Sweeny to West Columbia. The road starts out at FM 1459, 4 miles northeast of Sweeny. The road starts out heading east (although signed North/South), crossing the San Bernard River and makes a north and northeast turn, passing by several riverside neighborhoods. The road then heads to the east, then making a sharp turn to the north, then a slight northwest to north curve, then then taking another sharp turn to the east, coming to a T-intersection at State Highway 36 two miles south of West Columbia. FM 522 doesn't travel through any town but marks the northern unofficial border of unincorporated Wild Peach Village.
[edit] 50 MPH
The speed limit along the entire route is fifty miles-an-hour, and all curves have been recently given a 30 mile an hour suggested speed as now posted below the curve sign. A two mile stretch between FM 1459 and County Road 353 is known as Blacksferry Road.
