Farhad Ghafoor (Pashto: فرهاد غفور) (also spelled as Farhad Ghafour) is an Pashtun[citation needed] singer. He sings both in Pashto and Persian. He lives at the moment in Pakistan, Peshawar.

His upcoming album Hamwatan (pers.: My Countrymen) is to be released in 2007 by TriVision recording studios.

Farhad Ghafoor was born on June 1, 1965 in Afghanistan. Growing up he was influenced by the many late and great Persian (Tajik) singers of Afghanistan such as Ahmad Zahir and Isaaq Baghlani. Going to the prestigious Lycee Esteqlal in Kabul, Farhad Ghafoor performed countless and concerts and was well received by his peers. Thus with the fact that Farhad Ghafoor was going to the same high school with some other great singers. In the summer of 1981, Farhad Ghafoor started a journey that would take time to many countries. In 1988, Farhad Ghafoor finally arrived in Virginia, and to this day lives in the same house. Until 2002, Farhad Ghafoor had not seen his own country. However he traveled back there and was well received by the people ( this was after the release of his hit video "Hamwatan" in 2001). Farhad Ghafoor continued to thrive in the music industry and was becoming more renowned. After releasing 5 more music videos, over the span of 6 years Farhad Ghafoor has become a star.
