Far West Football League

The Far West Football League (FWFL) is an Australian rules football competition based in the Ceduna area of the Eyre Peninsula region of South Australia, Australia. It is an affiliated member of the South Australian National Football League. In 2006 Western United Football Club were premiers, defeating Koonibba Football Club.[1]

[edit] Brief History
1909 : The Far West Football Association was formed in 1909 with founding clubs including Charra, Denial Bay, Goode, Koonibba, Murat and Penong. Prior to World War I the league changed its name firstly to County Of Way Football Association and then to Murat Bay Football League. In 1962 The Murat Bay Football League changed name to the Far West Football League.
