FEU - East Asia College, formerly known as East Asia College of Information Technology (EACIT) and East Asia Institute of Computer Technology (EAICT) was established in 1992. EACIT is an educational partnership of Asia Pacific College (APC), Shoemart, IBM Phils., IWI (Phils.), and Far Eastern University (FEU).

Located at the northeastern part of FEU Campus in the City of Manila which was the old site of the FEU Hospital in the mid 50s. In 2002, FEU bought out the shares of all incorporators and became the sole owner of EACIT. That same year, FEU’s College of Engineering was merged with EACIT and the two formed a technology education powerhouse now known as FEU – East Asia College (FEU – EAC). It is one of the Top 5 IT Schools in the NCR Region and cited as a CHED Center of Development for Excellence in IT Education (CoDE).

FEU-EAC aims to develop computer professionals who will be prepared to fulfill the demands of business and industry. It expects to provide training programs aimed at preparing professionals with adequate foundations and practical skills, able to respond to the needs of an information-based and computer-oriented society.

Where Industry Meets Academe

Having been established by leaders of industry and academe, FEU – East Asia College distinguishes itself through an excellent curriculum relevant to current industry trends and needs.

The most outstanding and significant differentiating factor is its extensive Internship Program. Graduating upperclassmen spend at least one or two terms (4 to 8 months, depending on course specialization) doing actual hands-on work in the offices of over a hundred FEU – EAC Industry Partners.

Equally significant is the interactive collaboration of industry leaders and FEU – EAC FACULTY. New technology/product presentations, workshops and seminars are constant activities conducted through the Industry Resource Center (IRC) operated by our Industry-Academe Linkage, Alumni and Placement Office (IALAP).

Likewise, it is worthy to note that all Academic Program Directors have Doctoral and/or Masters degrees in their fields of specialization. This, and a passion for innovation, enables FEU – East Asia College to continuously upgrade its systems and services.

No wonder in the year 2000, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) recognized the College as a Center of Development for Excellence in I.T. Education (C.O.D.E.).

Today, FEU – East Asia College lives true to its raison d’ etre – producing high caliber industry-ready engineers and IT professionals who can contribute significantly in nation building.
