FarPoint Media Network

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

FarPoint Media Network is a podcast production and advertising network based at the Draco Vista Studios in Phoenix, Arizona Founded by Michael R. Mennenga in early 2006, it is currently managed by CEO Mennenga, Summer Brooks, Jeffrey Willerth and Samuel K. Sloan. Most of the podcasts put out have some form of grounding in science fiction. One of the FarPoint Media shows (Slice of SciFi) is broadcast on XM Radio, on the Sonic Theater channel.[1] Additionally, FarPoint Media shows have been broadcast on terrestrial radio as well, such as KVON-FM in the Napa Valley, California. The Slice of SciFi show was recognized by the makers of Snakes on a Plane for helping promote the movie and were on a panel for that movie at ComicCon in 2006 with Samuel L Jackson.

Currently 73 podcasts and 1 vidcast are produced within the Farpoint Media family, some are listed below. These podcasts come from a wide variety of styles, formats, and genres ranging from advice for 'wannabe authors', to discussions of 'geekdom' to literature and entertainment within the Speculative Fiction Genre, to unscripted, off the cuff programming.

As this is also an advertising network, podcasts under the FarPoint Media banner are interconnected with one another, often each podcast will share promotional clips for fellow podcasts, in the same spirit of other podcasting networks. Additionally, Founder, and Sound Engineer Michael R. Mennenga provides recording and/or post production services as needed for the podcasts.
