From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is a documentation subpage for Template:FAOL (see that page for the template itself).
It contains usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page.
This template employs intricate features of template syntax.
You are encouraged to familiarise yourself with its setup and parser functions before editing the template. If your edit causes unexpected problems, please undo it quickly, as this template may appear on a large number of pages.

This template should be placed in talk pages to highlight articles that have gained featured article status in other languages but are not as detailed in English. Using this template will add the talk page to appropriate sub-categories of Category:Wikipedia featured articles in other languages. This template is part of the Wikipedia:Featured articles in other languages page.

[edit] Usage

It should be added using either of the following forms:

{{FAOL|language|interwiki link}}
{{FAOL|lang1=language|link1=interwiki link}}

Example on Talk:Saint Calminius:

{{FAOL|French|fr:Calmin de Mozac}}

When several language editions of Wikipedia have the featured article status, use this form:

{{FAOL|language|interwiki link|lang2=Language|link2=Link|lang3=Language|link3=Link}}

See example at Talk:Adolf Hitler

A small version, floated right, may be generated as:

{{FAOL|language|interwiki link|small=yes}}

This template is compatible with {{WikiProjectBannerShell}}.

[edit] Note

Always write the language name by capitalising the first letter:

Arabic, French...

Interwiki link should be written without using brackets

fr:Article not [[:fr:Article]]
