[edit] All the Young Dudes

Hi mate, what was your plan with the ATYD image? Cheers, Ian Rose (talk) 01:12, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

Handled.--Fantailfan (talk) 13:15, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Sine

He isn't going to listen, there isn't any point posting on his talk page. I've looked for warnings reguarding controversial information, but I haven't found any. The only thing I can see here is ask for intervention. Daedalus (talk) 21:16, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Merzbow

Hello. I could use help with Merzbow_discography. I'm trying to determine how notable each of the blue-linked albums are. I am reasonably certain that the artist meets some form of notability criteria (having a nearly 30 year history, and being a published author as well), but individual albums without any chart-topping history probably shouldn't have articles, unless there is some other significance to them, or if they were made with the help of other notable artists. If you don't think you can or want to help ,but know someone who might, please feel free to drop them a line. Thanks! - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 14:46, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

Since you are a member of Wikiproject Albums I thought you might be interested in the process in general of confirming notability. IF you're busy or not interested I understand. Thanks for your time! - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 16:17, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Kosmo Vinyl

A tag has been placed on Kosmo Vinyl, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. PMDrive1061 (talk) 00:47, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

  • Thanks for putting some more content in the article. I've withdrawn my objection and added a construction template instead. Thanks for being nice.  :) --PMDrive1061 (talk) 01:01, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Kosmo Vinyl

A tag has been placed on Kosmo Vinyl requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Jfire (talk) 03:40, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] re Kosmo

Cheers. I knew I'd heard the name and I thought he was notable, but, even after research, it's hard to actually explain why he is notable. He's an interesting subject, so I may take a stab at fleshing out the article a bit.--Kubigula (talk) 18:02, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Belated reply re: Counting Crows album, etc.

Thanks for your message, and apologies for taking so long to get back to you. Now then:

1) Good on you for getting the pun. If I actually lived in Ireland, there would be no pronunciation issue, but either way, I'm not sensitive about it.

2) When I put the new Crows disc (yes, the US version) into my player the digital readout says "14 | 60:00." Of course the runtime will vary slightly from player to player, but I wanted to make it clear that I wasn't just rounding up.

3) Spoonerisms happen to the best of us, not to mention me.

Best wishes. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Eamontoplease (talkcontribs) 04:25, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:99.9F - Suzanne Vega.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:99.9F - Suzanne Vega.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

The following images also have this problem:

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Street life 86 - Roxy Music.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Street life 86 - Roxy Music.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:51, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Ac8489.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Ac8489.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 14:18, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Albums & singles categories

Why are you removing articles from the <year> albums and <year> singles categories? They seem to be legitimate members of these categories to me. Was there some CFD decision I'm unaware of? --D. Monack | talk 19:37, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

I think you are mistaken about that to do item. These articles shouldn't be in the <year> in music categories, but should be in the <year> album or <year> single categories. That's what they're for. --D. Monack | talk 20:58, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 23:52, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] The New Age of Atlantic

Hi, thanks for working on the samplers, but I wonder why you've changed this to make Side one & Side two inconsistent with each other, and the latter inconsistent with the project MOS? Are you going to fix it? Thanks. --Rodhullandemu 16:30, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

Oh, that's OK, it's evening here. The standard for abums is here, in particular tracklistings are # "Title" (writing credits) - Artist - timing.
Problem with the way you've done it is that TNAOA is now set out inconsistently with not only the others in that series, but also with all the other Sampler album articles I've written. A reader is going to be confused, if not annoyed. What do you suggest, bearing in mind I am currently trying to get two Good Article reviews started? --Rodhullandemu 17:34, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
