[edit] Independent?
I'm changing this back to say 'independent record label' - I know there is some sort of agreement between FP and the Sanctuary Group, and thus Universal, I'm not entirely sure what the link is. However I do know that they are a member of the Association of Independent Music, whose membership requirements forbid any label from joining if 50% or more of their shares are owned by a major label. To me that sounds a very reasonable definition of an independent label, so I'm going to put that back in for now - with a mention of the link between them and Sanctuary of course. If anybody can shed any more light upon the exact details of the partnership or whatever it may be so that the judgement can be made a little better I'd appreciate it, information on Sanctuary's website is vague to put it mildly, and on FP's info doesn't even exist. As it's relatively common for (especially the larger) independent labels to have some sort of partnership with a major label for various reasons, i.e. helping distribution or other such things, I feel it's more suitable to describe them as an independent label - especially as the official (band + label operated) MySpace profiles of their artists (links to several of which are available on this page all show 'indie' for 'label type' Hengler 23:06, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
