Fantasy Black Channel is the forthcoming debut album by Castle Donington fourpiece Late of the Pier, to be released on Parlophone Records.
In May 2008 the band announced the album's title via a Myspace bulletin, and also revealed it would be released in August 11th, 2008. The album is preceded by the re-release of "Space And The Woods", as a double A-side with new song "Focker".
[edit] Recording
The album was recorded in early 2008 with Erol Alkan reprising production duties, having already produced the earlier singles Bathroom Gurgle and The Bears Are Coming, released in late 2007.
Late Of The Pier took a break from recording in February to embark on a headlining UK tour, previewing some new material.[1] They also toured in May to promote double a-side single Space And The Woods/Focker.[2]
[edit] Tracklisting
Although no tracklisting has been confirmed, it seems likely that the album will contain the singles "Bathroom Gurgle", "The Bears Are Coming", "Space And The Woods", and "Focker". Singer Sam Eastgate also confirmed a new track, "The Enemy Of The Future", would be on the album during an interview with The Fly magazine.[3]
The band also posted a new, re-recorded demo of "A Heartbeat, A Flicker, A Line" on their myspace, confirming that the song was part of the album's recording sessions.
Producer Erol Alkan confirmed on his official forum that Broken was re-recorded in the album sessions.[4]
