Fanny Lucía Martínez Buenaventura, more commonly known as Fanny Lú, is a singer from Santiago de Cali, Colombia.

Fanny Lu completed her studies in Colegio Bolivar and then later went on to study at Universidad de Los Andes (University of Los Andes). In 1994, she became a TV presenter. Afterward, she went into the music industry.

Fanny's debut album, Lágrimas Cálidas (Warm Tears), was released in 2006. The album was an instant hit in Latin America, especially in Colombia, where it spent five weeks at #1. The lead single "No Te Pido Flores" (I'm Not Asking for Flowers) also spent seven weeks at #1 on the Hot 100 Billboard Charts in Latin America, Colombia, Perú, Venezuela, and México, and has received a numerous amount of airplay in Latin radio in the U.S., the song has also peaked at #16 on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs and #1 on Billboard's Tropical chart. The second single from her debut album is the song called "Y Si Te Digo"(And If I Tell You) and it peaked at #1 on the Billboard Hot Latin Tracks. Rumors have been circulating that the third single from the album will be the song, "Te Arrepentirás" (You Will Repent).

Fanny Lú received her first Latin Grammy nomination on August 29, 2007 for her debut single, "No Te Pido Flores", under the Best Tropical Song category but lost to Juan Luis Guerra's "La Llave de mi Corazón". The awards were handed out on November 8, 2007.

Fanny Lú was nominated for two Lo Nuestro Awards. The ceremony took place on February 21, 2008 and aired on Univisión. She was nominated for Female Aritst of the Year and Artist of the Year under the Tropical-genre categories.

As a result of her on-going success, Fanny Lú received six Latin Billboard Music Award nominations in 2008, including Tropical Album of the Year and Tropical New Artist Album of the Year for her album "Lagrimas Calidas" as well as Tropical Airplay Song of the Year and Tropical Airplay New Artist Song of the Year - categories that her singles "No Te Pido Flores" and "Y Si Te Digo" share together. The awards are set to air in Telemundo this April. She went on to win the award for Tropical Airplay New Artist Song of the Year for her hit "Y Si Te Digo".
