This is a Chinese name; the family name is Fan (樊).

Fan Jian was a Shu vassal who participated as a civil official during Zhuge Liang's Southern and Northern Campaigns.

After the collapse of Shu, Fan Jian along with Liu Shan were both sent to Kuo Yang. Fan Jian was later appointed an officer by Sima Zhao.
