[edit] Manditory Software Install
My volume 4 DVD set (US region) wants me to install some special software when I put the disk in my computer. My regular computer DVD player has problems with the disk because of this. I eventually found an alternative way to play the disk but still this was quite an annoyance. Something about this should be included in the article. On what volume did it start? Is the goal of the software to prevent customers from playing it on their prefered computer dvd player? Is it to prevent copies? Does this problem effect home (TV) DVD players too? Is anyone else annoyed by this? --Jon in California 23 June 2007
[edit] Season 4 episode number
How many episodes are in season 4? List of Family Guy episodes lists 32 episodes. The page Says 26 episodes in Region 1 and 21 episodes in Regions 2 and 4.
[edit] Answer
There is an actual reason to this. Region 2/4 came with the 1st 13 eps entitled "Season 4". I presume some ther situation happened in Region 1.
[edit] Question
When will DVD Volume 4 (the second half of Season 4) come out? It says, "Spring 2006," but I haven't seen any ads for it yet.
I've been wondering that too. It's *June* now; summer will be coming very shortly. I heard somewhere that the rest of season 4 wasn't gonna come out until November, but I was skeptical that they'd wait so long... and *I* don't wanna wait that long either. xp Maybe they're waiting to turn in a sizeable profit for the American Dad season 1 box set before they release it...
[edit] The Complete Collection
The newest Region 2 box set is sold as "The Complete Collection". Is it? Does it include the whole of season 4, or just the first 13 episodes, as with the regular season 4 DVD? Otherwise there do appear to be nasty product misdescription issues. Furthermore, I've seen several shops (eg HMV) promote the regular season 4 DVD as the "complete season 4", where as the product packaging nowhere uses the word 'complete'. - Well the next one is to be named Season 5. So as far as we're concerned (in Europe) the boxset labelled Season 4 is Season 4 (or at least that's our Season 4). Notice also, that none of the Family Guy DVDs say "Complete Season..." only the Simpsons do that. - Рэдхот 09:14, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
- Volume 4 (14 episodes, or half of season 4) and Volume 5 (14 episodes, or the other half of season 4) will be called "Complete Season 4" and "complete Season 5". Why, I do not know. Well, besides making us buy two box sets instead of one of course JayKeaton 22:39, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
the Family Sized DVD Collection is also available in R4 using the R4 DVD cases and a slightly different box, it is called the Family Sized DVD Box insted of colection. a pic of brian filles up the room that is spare in the blue border at the top.
[edit] R4 Season 2
It reads like this: This box set contains all fourteen episodes produced for season 2, including the (previously) unaired "When You Wish Upon A Weinstein". I'm just wondering, is it refering to the Australian seasons or the standard production seasons? Because if it is using the prodiction seasons then it should read like this: This box set contains a selection of 14 episodes from season 2, plus the episode "When You Wish Upon A Weinstein" from season 3, making it a total of 15 episodes. In any case, there are 15 episodes in the R4 season 2 box set, a seemingly random selection of half the actual season 2 plus the Weinstein episode from the actual season 3. I have no idea how this article should reflect this, but any changes you see on there were probably made me be. Please discuss here so I can know what is actually going on here JayKeaton 22:47, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
- Phew, I just went through my R4 box sets and worked out where each episode is on each disc, I have already edited the article so please check there if you want to know. And PLEASE DO NOT change it, it finally fits in and better explains the R4 box sets. JayKeaton 23:23, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Merge From Family Guy: Off the Cutting Room Floor
Was Up for deletion via PROD, removed prod to suggest Move here. EnsRedShirt 09:31, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
- I don't see a problem with it just getting deleted. But either way: some relevant information should be posted here, with the article being a redirect to this article. RobJ1981 10:23, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
- Even for reasons of clear comparison it would fit nicely here. I'd say feel free to merge it JayKeaton 05:24, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
I would agree too.
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:FGCB15.jpg
Image:FGCB15.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 06:13, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Regions
What region would europe fall under and anybody know when the next dvd series be released-the-muffin-man- 19:37, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
- The Muffin Man, Europe falls under Region 2. And a release date for the next DVD series has not been disclosed as of yet, but speculated to be in October/November Mrx9898 07:52, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] DVD Cover Images
Per Wikipedia's Non-free content criteria, screenshots on Episode lists and album covers and Discographies are not acceptable under criteria 3a and 8. These same criteria can logically be applied to a list of DVDs as well. ~ BigrTex 15:16, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
- Concur. Foundation:Resolution:Licensing policy is clear on this issue. Specifically, item #3 of the resolution. Fair use usage must be minimal. There were 32 DVD covers on this article. If there were individual articles for each of these DVDs, then having the cover on those articles would be appropriate. Here, it's no different than discographies where album covers are routinely being removed. Continued placement of these images here on this article is a violation of our policies. --Durin 19:45, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
- We do not add fair use images to articles because they make the article look better. --Durin 14:01, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Regions lists other than Region 1
I dont think we need the other regions as part of the list of Family Guy DVDs. They are making the article look cluttered. Also, this is the English Wikipedia, so all we should have here is the Region 1 DVDs. If the people in Mexico want to know what Family Guy DVDs there are in their region (4), there should be an article on the Spanish Wikipedia titled "DVDs de Family Guy" and they should be able to look there. Not on the English Wikipedia, where the only regions which should be listed here are Region 1 and possibly 2. Doodoobutter 17:38, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
usually the other regions info wouldnt be necessary, although since fox screwed things up and labeled some as volumes and some as seasons with different numbers they are needed to help clear things up. Grande13 19:04, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
The primary target of the R2 DVDs is the United Kingdom, Ireland and South Africa and the primary target of the R4 DVDs are Australia and New Zealand. All are English speaking nations and as you said this is the English Wiki. Their is no such thing as the America only Wiki.
Substantial differences exist between R1 R2 and R4 ranging from episode order, bonus features, commentary tracks, and censorship. I think more information should be added to further clarify the differences as it is still pretty confusing. Generalleoff 14:50, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
