Seth Woodbury MacFarlane (born October 26, 1973) is an American comedian, animator, producer and composer. Due to his work, MacFarlane has won two Emmy awards. MacFarlane is most probably best known for being the creator of Family Guy and American Dad!.
MacFarlane was born to Ronald Milton MacFarlane and Ann Perry Sager in Kent, Connecticut. MacFarlane received a diploma at Kent School in Connecticut, and was commented on by the head teacher for a "low sense of humour". MacFarlane began to study animation at Rhode Island School of Design; it was at this that the setting of Family Guy being in Quahog arose. MacFarlane moved on to create The Life of Larry in 1995; which led to the development of Family Guy. He was hired by Hanna-Barbera Cartoons, writing for Cartoon Network cartoons such as Dexter's Laboratory and Cow and Chicken, among others.
As well as the founding and voice acting for Family Guy, MacFarlane has also provided roles in television programs such as Star Trek: Enterprise and The War At Home. MacFarlane has received two awards, these being "Outstanding Voice-over Performance" and "Outstanding Music and Lyrics".
