Family Forensics UK is a UK television series airing on LivingTV produced by Twofour. Hosted by Jayne Middlemiss, the programme is a UK version of a hit US show where a forensics team (including a forensic profiler, a private investigator and a relationship expert) treat a house as they would a crime scene, profiling the lives and psychological make-up of the family who live there over the course of a weekend.
The team have access to the entire house and its contents, snooping through personal belongings, computer files, photos, financial records and even the household rubbish. The team are permitted to do this by being given access by one member of the family, whilst the production company send them away for the weekend. The team employ the latest in hi-tech forensic science, taking swabs, fingerprints and samples to piece together a picture of the entire family, complete with all of their secrets.
At the end of the two days of investigation, the family return home to confront the truth about themselves and their family dynamic. The team present them with detailed personal profiles based on their findings and hopefully help them to find resolutions that work for the whole family.
